Book of Purification
Definition of Purification “Linguisticly”: It means to clean an object to the state of Purity, which includes both the physical like washing after the use of the restroom and the metaphorical like cleaning ones heart from pride, hate and invy.
In fiqh terminology it means: lifting the state of impurity or removal of filth “Najasa” this will include what falls under either of those two catagories “Hadth and Najis” in their meaning or image.
Note: Hadth can be physical or metaphorical.
Najis can only be physical.
It is also important to note that the shafai’I school conciders wudu to be mainly done for religious obligation not for metaphorical or physical statuses.
The defeinition used is the defenition of Imam An-Nawawi
“Lifting the state of Impurity” by action such as Wudu and Ghusl
“Removal of Filth” by washing with water after the restroom and washing ones clothes that have filth on it.
“In their meaning” Lifting the state of impurity: like Tayamum and Nessicary wudu. Due to the state of impurity is not lift in actuality but rather lisences were used.
Removal of Najasa: like the rocks used for cleaning ones self after reliving them selves “Istinja” for the residue of the najasa is still present.
“In there image” Lifting the state of impurity: like Sunnah Showers “Ghusl”, Repeating Wudu and washing ones hands two or three times, it is in the image of lifting the state of impurity “hadth” but it isn’t in actuality.
Removal of filth: like repeating a shower “ghusl” that isn’t required due to the first being suffice so it is in the image of removal of the filth but not.
Forms of Purification “Tahara”:
Wudu, Ghusl, Tayamum and Removal of filth “Najasah”
Tools of Purification:
Water as long as it is still in its original form.
Dirt as long as it is pure and has dust to it.
Tanning cemicals as long as it can be used to remove the remainder of an animal off of the skin.
Rocks of cleaning “Istinja” as long as that they are sterdy, solid, clean and not needed.
Equipment of Purification:
Proper research for what is needed”like looking for water”
And utensils, pot, cups and puckets to carry the water.
Some ulama mention:
Tools of Tahara are dirt and water
And tanning tools and rocks if you can’t find water
The tools of the tools that are needed on the spot
Proper reseach and pan or a pot
The definition of Water in fiqh is:
A clear liquid not think nor thin, takes the color of the item in sits in, Allah creates agriculture when it is used.
Origins of water: are Seven
Three from the sky: Rain, Snow and Hail.
Four from the earth: Sea, Well, River and Spring.
The best of waters as stated by some shafai’I scholars:
The best of waters that were created
What bubbled between the fingers of the prophet
Then Zamzam that is still current
Then the water we shall taste if we make it
Then the Nile river of Egypt
Then follows all the rivers of this planet
