One doesn’t necessarily need a formal education to know that education in any form is better than none at all.
But did you know that a lack of education is a danger to yourself and others? People with a lack of education are more likely to believe in superstition and make bad decisions based on information gleamed from bad media sources. Such as the false information put out in movies and television. When we can arm ourselves with knowledge from so many online sources at little to no charge, there is no longer any excuse to say you haven’t sought an education. Especially in Islam when it is incumbent upon us to seek knowledge. We can see many examples of lack of education and the dangers there of in the people who practice religion from tradition in stead of actual knowledgeable information from reliable sources. Or people who get their religious information from any run of the mill TV host who decides he knows something and insists to the uneducated masses that he is a sheikh of sorts. They believe him without fail. No matter how wrong or bad the information is some people will insist he is right just because he is that famous guy on TV! Unfortunately they then go and teach these same things to their children who will know no better. And so on and so in until what? Until Islam is no longer recognizable? That is a true danger to society. We must arm ourselves with knowledge of every sort so we cannot be fooled or tricked or even mistakenly give bad advice on a health matter that could harm someone’s health.
Surah Al-Alaq, Verse 1:
اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
Read in the name of your Lord Who created.
