Science in The Qur’an

“Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.” – Albert Einstein

The Qur’an

It is a great miracle that these facts, which could not possibly be discovered, without the technology of the 20th century, were explicitly stated in the Qur’an 1400 years ago”

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth.
(Qur’an 6:101)

“Do not they not see that the heavens and the Earth
were once one mass, then We rent them apart?”
  (Qur’an 21:30)

“And it is We who have constructed the heaven with might,
and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it.”
(Qur’an 51:47)

“Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and
the earth were joined together
 (as one unit of creation),
before We clove them asunder, and We made from
water every living thing. Will they not then believe?”
(Qur’an 21:30)

“and the heavens we created with might (power) and
we are expanding it.”
(Qur’an 51:47)

The overall Big Bang theory states that the universe started from anincredibly dense
that exploded. All matter, light and energy came from that explosion.
The size of the universe increases as everything expands from this explosion.
The theory is that of an expanding universe, meaning that the universe
as a whole is expanding
, instead of a static universe meaning
that matter is expanding into a statically sized space.

That Day We will fold up heaven like folding up the
pages of a book. As We originated the first creation so
We will regenerate it. It is a promise binding on Us.
That is what We will do.
(Qur’an 21:104)

They do not measure Allah with His true measure.
The whole earth will be a mere handful for Him on the
Day of Rising the heavens folded up in His right hand.
Glory be to Him! He is exalted above the
partners they ascribe!
(Qur’an 39:67)

To put matters into perspective, think of it this way: the Big Bang Theory suggests that
the universe is still expanding even up to this very moment and is doing so at a
continuously accelerating pace. Astronomers assume that this is being aided by a
cosmos-wide “scalar field” that forces everything away from the original point of the Big
Bang. The repulsion, experts think, is the same in magnitude across space – much
similar to the way water ripples form and expand.

However, some experts also believe that there will come a time when the whole universe
will reach a saturation point. This is when the gravity being exerted by all the matter in
the universe exceeds the energy of the said scalar field. When this transpires,
expansion will stop altogether and the whole process will reverse until everything is
condensed once again in a massive black hole of singularity. In short, astronomers
believe that the universe will eventually collapse on itself until nothing is left.

Then He turned to Heaven when it was smoke,
and said to it and to Earth: “Come willingly or unwillingly.”
They said: “We come willingly”
(Qur’an 41:11)

“With power and skill did We construct the Firmament:
For it is We Who create the vastness of Space.”
(Qur’an 51:47)

“Moreover, He Comprehended in His design the sky,
and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth:
Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly.’ They said:
‘We do come (together), in willing obedience.’”
(Qur’an 41:11)

“When the sky is torn apart, so it was (like)
a red rose, like ointment.”
(Qur’an 55:37)

nebula (from Latin: “mist” [1]; pl. nebulae or nebulæ, with ligature ornebulas) is an
interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen gas and plasma. It is the first stage of a star’s cycle.

Nebulae often form star-forming regions, such as in the Eagle Nebula.

This nebula is depicted in one of NASA’s most famous images, the “Pillars of Creation”. In
these regions the formations of gas, dust and other materials ‘clump’ together
to form larger masses, which attract further matter, and eventually will become big
enough to form stars.

The remaining materials are then believed to form planets, and other planetary system objects.

Some nebulae are formed as the result of supernova explosions, the  death throes of
massive, short-lived stars. The material thrown off from the supernova explosion is ionised
by the supernova remnant.

One of the best examples of this is the Crab Nebula, in Taurus. It is the result of a recorded
supernova, SN 1054, in the year 1054 and at the centre of the nebula is a neutron star, created during the explosion.

The Cat’s Eye Nebula; an example of a planetary nebula.

“It is He Who created the night and the day, and
the sun and the moon. They swim along,
each in an orbit
. ”
(Qur’an 21:33)

“It is He Who created the Night and the Day,
and the sun and the moon: All (the celestial bodies)
swim along
, each in its rounded course.”
(Qur’an 21:33)

“He has ordained the sun and the moon, each one runs
(it’s course) for an appointed time.”
(Qur’an 13:2)

“It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon,
nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just)
swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).”
(Qur’an 36:40)

“The sun and the moon follow courses
precisely computed

(Qur’an 55:5)

The sun is one of hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy, the Milky Way. The galaxy is
composed of gaseous interstellar medium, neutral or ionized, sometimes concentrated into
dense gas clouds made up of atoms molecules, and dust. All of the matter — gas, dust, and
stars — rotate around a central axis perpendicular to the galactic plane. The centrifugal force
caused by the rotation balances out the gravitational force, which draw all the matter toward the centre.

All stars in the galaxy rotate around a galactic centre but not with the same period. Stars at the
centre have a shorter period than those farther out. The Sun is located in the outer partof the galaxy. The
speed of the solar system due to the galactic rotation is about 220 km/s. he disk of stars in the Milky
Way is about 100,000 light years across and the sun is located
about 30,000 light years from the galaxy’s center. Based on a distance of 30,000 light years
and a speed of 220 km/s, the Sun’s orbit around the centre of the Milky Way once every 225
million years. The period of time is called a cosmic year. The Sun has orbited the galaxy,
more than 20 times during its 5 billion year lifetime
. The motions of the period are
studied by measuring the positions of lines in the galaxy spectra.

“And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded. Yet they turn away from its signs.”
(Qur’an 21:32)

While the earth’s magnetic field allows compasses on earth to work,
it has a much more vital function. It acts as a shield, protecting the
earth from solar particles emissions from the sun. These solar particles
are constantly generated, streaming out from the sun in all directions.
During solar flares, huge amounts of these particles are generated,
creating vast clouds of highly energetic particles that race toward
earth at speeds up to 1000km per second.

The clouds of particles approach Earth and are deflected away by
Earths magnetic field. If these rays were not deflected,
life on earth (if it existed) would be radically different.

The rays are deflected away from the earth. Once the rays have passed by the Earth,
some of them move back along the lines of magnetic force to the north and south poles.
When the cosmic rays strike the upper regions of the atmosphere,
the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) or Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) are formed.
The planets that have magnetic fields around them have their own form of the Aurora Borealis

“By the heavens, and At-Târiq (one who knocks at night);
And what will make you to know what At-Târiq is?
(It is) the star of piercing (brightness)”

(Qur’an 86:1-3)
In recent times scientists have discovered the existence of
pulsars. Pulsars are highly magnetized, rotating neutron
stars that emit beams of radiation. Their radiation can only
be observed when the beam of emission is pointing straight
towards the Earth. This lighthouse effect causes an
observed pulsed nature that gives pulsars their name. The
first pulsar was observed on November 28, 1967.
Pulsars make sounds like a hammer or knock, when observed using
a radio telescope and the radiations they emit can penetrate
and puncture anything, including the earth.

“Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse
and the mountains as pegs?”
(Qur’an 78:6-7)

 “By the returning atmosphere.
By the fractured earth.

(Qur’an 86:12)

“And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm,
lest it should shake with them.”
(Qur’an 21:31)

Geologists tell us that the radius of the Earth is about 6,035 km and the crust on which we live is very
thin, ranging from 2 to 35 km. Since the crust is thin, it has a high possibility of
shaking. Mountains act like stakes or tent pegs that hold the earth’s crust and give it

The surface of the earth is broken into many rigid plates that are about 100 km in
thickness. These plates float on a partially molten region called aesthenosphere. Mountain
formations occur at the boundary of the plates. The earth’s crust is 5 km thick below
oceans, about 35 km thick below flat continental surfaces and almost 80 km thick below great
mountain ranges. These are the strong foundations on which mountains stand.

“And we have made the earth egg shaped”.
(lit.trans: ostrich egg)
(Qur’an 79:30)

As countless photos from space can attest, Earth is round—the “Blue Marble,” as astronauts
have affectionately dubbed it. Appearances, however, can be deceiving. Planet Earth is not, in
fact, perfectly round.

This is not to say Earth is flat. Well before Columbus sailed the ocean blue, Aristotle and other ancient
Greek scholars proposed that Earth was round. This was based on a number of
observations, such as the fact that departing ships not only appeared smaller as they sailed
away but also seemed to sink into the horizon, as one might expect if sailing across a ball says
geographer Bill Carstensen of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

Isaac Newton (1643-1727) first proposed that Earth was not perfectly round. Instead, he suggested it was an oblate
spheroid—a sphere that is squashed at its poles and swollen at the equator. The shape similar to an
ostrich egg
. He was correct and, because of this bulge, the distance from Earth’s centre to sea level is
roughly 21 kilometres (13 miles) greater
at the equator than at the poles.

“We sent aforetime our messengers with clear signs
and sent down with them the book and the balance
(of right and wrong), that men may stand forth in
justice; and we sent down iron, in which is great might,
as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may
test who it is that will help, unseen, him and his
messengers: for Allah is full of strength, exalted in might”
(Qur’an 57:25)

“Blessed is He who made constellations in the sky
and placed there in a lamp, and a moon giving light.”
(Qur’an 25:61)

“It is He who made the sun to light up (the sky)
and the moon that is lit.”
(Qur’an 10:5)

 “And the Sun runs its course for a period determined for it;
that is the decree of (Him) the exalted in Might,
the All-Knowing.”
(Qur’an 36:38)

“…as if it were a brilliant star……..whose oil (fuel)
is well lit, even no fire touches it.”
(Qur’an 24:35)

“when stars lose their lustre”
(Qur’an 77:8 )

“He has ordained the sun and the moon, each one runs

“When the sun is rounded (swelling like a ball)”
“When the stars have collapsed”
“When the oceans boil over in a swell”

“The Unbelievers say, ‘Never to us will come The Hour’:
say, ‘Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come
upon you by Him Who knows the unseen – from Whom
is not hidden the least little atom in the Heavens or
on earth: nor is there anything less than that, or greater,
but is in the Record Perspicuous.’”
(Qur’an 34:3)

“Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain
from the sky, and leads it through springs in
the earth
?  then He causes to grow, therewith,
produce of various colours.”
(Qur’an 39:21)

“By the Firmament which returns (in its round),”

“He sends down rain from the sky and with it gives
life to the earth after it is dead: Verily in that are
Signs for those who are wise.”
(Qur’an 30:24)

“And We send down water from the sky according to
(due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil;
and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease).”
(Qur’an 23:18)

“And We send the fecundating winds, then cause
the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing
you with water (in abundance).”
(Qur’an 15:22)

“Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently,
then joins them together, then makes them
into a heap
?– then wilt thou see rain issue
forth from their midst. And He sends down from
the skymountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail:
He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it
away from whom He pleases. the vivid flash of His
lightning well-nigh blinds the sight.”
(Qur’an 24:43)

“It is Allah Who sends the Winds, and they raise
the Clouds
: then does He spread them in the sky
as He wills, and break them into fragments, until thou
seest raindrops issue from the midst thereof: then
when He has made them reach such of His servants
as He wills, behold, they do rejoice!”
(Qur’an 30:48)

“….And He sends down hail from mountains (clouds)
in the sky, and He strikes with it whomever He wills,
and turns it from whomever He wills.
The vivid flash of its lightning nearly blinds the sight.”
(Qur’an, 24:43)

Meteorologists have found that these cumulonimbus clouds, that shower hail, reach a height of 25,000 to
30,000 ft (4.7 to 5.7 miles), like mountains, as the Qur’an said, “…And He sends down hail from
mountains (clouds) in the sky…”

A cloud becomes electrified as hail falls through a region in the cloud of supercooled droplets
and ice crystals.  As liquid droplets collide with a hailstone, they freeze on contact and release
latent heat. This keeps the surface of the hailstone warmer than that of the surrounding ice
crystals.  When the hailstone comes in contact with an ice crystal, an important phenomenon
occurs: electrons flow from the colder object toward the warmer object.  Hence, the hailstone
becomes negatively charged.  The same effect occurs when supercooled droplets come in
contact with a hailstone and tiny splinters of positively charged ice break off.  These lighter
positively charged particles are then carried to the upper part of the cloud by updrafts. The hail, left with a
negative charge, falls towards the bottom of the cloud, thus the lower part of the cloud becomes
negatively charged.  These negative charges are then discharged as lightning.  We conclude from this
that hail is the major factor in producing lightning.

“He has let free the two bodies of flowing water,
meeting together: Between them is a Barrier
which they do not transgress.”
(Qur’an 55:19-20)

“And made a separating bar between the
two bodies of flowing water?”
(Qur’an 27:61)

“It is He Who has let free the two bodies of flowing
water: one palatable and sweet, and the other salty and bitter;
yet has He made a barrier between them, and a partition
that is forbidden to be passed.
(Qur’an 25:53)

“Or (the Unbelievers’ state) is like the depths
of darkness
in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed
with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark)
clouds: depths of darkness, one above another:
if a man stretches out his hand, he can hardly see it!
For any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!”
(Qur’an 24:40)

The internal waves cover the deep waters of seas and oceans because the deep waters have a
higher density than the waters above them. Internal waves act like surface waves. They can also break,
just like surface waves. Internal waves cannot be seen by the human eye, but they can be detected by
studying temperature or salinity changes at a given location.

A light ray is composed of seven colours. These seven colours are Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green,
Yellow, Orange and Red (VIBGYOR). The light ray undergoes refraction when it hits water. The
upper 10 to 15 metres of water absorb the red colour. Therefore if a diver is 25 metres under
water and gets wounded, he would not be able to see the red colour of his blood, because the
red colour does not reach this depth. Similarly orange rays are absorbed at 30 to 50 metres,
yellow at 50 to 100 metres, green at 100 to 200 metres, and finally, blue beyond 200 metres
and violet and indigo above 200 metres. Due to successive disappearance of colour, one layer
after another, the ocean progressively becomes darker, i.e. darkness takes place in layers of
light. Below a depth of 1000 metres there is complete darkness.{Oceans, Elder and Pernetta,

The sun’s rays are absorbed by clouds which in turn scatter light rays thus causing a layer of
darkness under the clouds. This is the first layer of darkness. When light rays reach the
surface of the ocean they are reflected by the wave surface giving it a shiny appearance.
Therefore it is the waves which reflect light and cause darkness. The unreflected light
penetrates into the depths of the ocean. Therefore the ocean has two parts. The surface
characterized by light and warmth and the depth characterized by darkness. The surface is
further separated from the deep part of the ocean by waves. The internal waves cover the
deep waters of seas and oceans because the deep waters have a higher density than the
waters above them. The darkness begins below the internal waves. Even the fish in the
depths of the ocean cannot see; their only source of light is from their own bodies.

“And has sent down water from the sky.’ With it
have We produced diverse pairs of plants each
separate from the others.”
(Qur’an 20:53)

“And fruit of every kind He made in pairs,
two and two.”
(Qur’an 13:3)

Previously, humans did not know that plants too have male and female gender distinctions.
Botany states that every plant has a male and female gender. Even the plants that are
unisexual have distinct elements of both male and female.

Fruit is the end product of reproduction of the superior plants. The stage preceding fruit is
the flower, which has male and female organs (stamens and ovules). Once pollen has been
carried to the flower, they bear fruit, which in turn matures and frees its seed. All fruits therefore
imply the existence of male and female organs; a fact that is mentioned in the Qur’an.

In certain species, fruit can come from non-fertilized flowers (parthenocarpic fruit) e.g.
bananas, certain types of pineapple, fig, orange, vine, etc. They also have definite sexual

“Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that
the Earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind
and (other) things of which they have no knowledge.”
(Qur’an 36:36)

The Qur’an here says that everything is created in pairs, including things that the humans do
not know at present and may discover later.

“Do they not look at the birds, held poised in
the midst of (the air and) the sky? Nothing holds
them up but (the power of) Allah. Verily in this

(Qur’an 16:79)

Allah splits the seed and kernel. He brings forth the
living from the dead, and produces the dead out of the living.
That is Allah, so how are you misguided?
(Qur’an 6:95)

When a living thing dies, micro-organisms quickly cause it to decompose. The dead body is
thus divided up into organic molecules that mix with the soil and form the basic source of food for
plants, animals, and, ultimately, humanity. Were it not for this nutritional cycle, life would not be possible.
Bacteria are responsible for meeting all living things’ mineral and food needs. Plants and some
animals, which remain almost dead (hibernation) throughout the winter, revive in the summer
and meet all of their mineral and food requirements through the activities of bacteria during the
winter. Throughout the winter, bacteria separate organic wastes (i.e., dead plants and animals)
and turn them into minerals. Thus, when living things reawaken in spring, they find food
ready and waiting for them. Thanks to bacteria, a “spring cleaning” has been carried out in their
environment and the necessary amount of food has been prepared for nature as it returns to life in the spring.

People have known for thousands of years that raw honey has amazing healing properties, the
ability to heal skin wounds and kill bacteria. But, science has been unable to understand what
the active ingredient in raw honey is. Now, an Australian PhD student, Shona Blair believes
she’s discovered the mechanism of how honey attacks bacteria so effectively.

WILLIS: This is the first time anyone has been able to show how this honey kills bacteria. The
honey was turning off the genes that allow the bacteria to reproduce, but the honey also
seemed to be activating huge numbers of the bacteria’s defence genes. It was like nothing
Shona had seen before; the bacteria was acting like it was under attack from a whole range of
assailants from acid, to salt and heat. The honey was overwhelming the bacteria by attacking it
on so many levels at once.

BLAIR : I looked at all the different genes. I had about 70 that were up-regulated, which means
they were turned on more by this honey and about 40 that were down-regulated so they were
actually suppressed by the honey.

WILLIS : So rather than one magic component causing one effect, the honey is launching a
multi-pronged attack on the bacteria, but it’s this overwhelming assault that could explain why
bacteria don’t seem to be able to become resistant to honey.

BLAIR : There’s been no evidence to show that organisms will develop resistance to honey. In
fact, we’ve done experiments trying to make them resistant and we can’t.

GIBBS : And that’s a very important finding because there are going to be increasing problems
with antibiotic resistance in the future.

WILLIS : It’s even effective against the most notorious bacteria of all Golden Staph. Golden
Staph is already resistant to all but one drug.

Inspired by honey’s potential against super bugs,
the once sceptical Harry Gibbs, is now running one of the very few clinical trials being conducted
using honey.

“Honey will heal all stomach ulcers and if applied on skin will heal skin ulcers. Applied on
skin burns will help healing and infection. Honey will heal all burns better than available
medication. Honey contains anti oxidantsmulti-vitamins and demonstratesantiviral,
antibacterial properties. Honey is great medicine for the skin. It is now showing great
promise as a skin moisturizer. Not only does it help retain moisture, it resembles the skin’s
natural moisturizing factor.”

“Honey can heal wounds says Dr.Probhas Banerjee

A 10-year detailed clinical study carried out on 345 patients at Bannerji Biomedical Research
Centre in West Bengal, using honey on different and complicated wounds has proved that
honey is capable of healing various kinds of wounds.”

“And before Solomon were marshalled his hosts –
of Jinns and men and birds, and they were all kept
in order and ranks. “At length, when they came
to a (lowly) valley of ants, one of the ants said :
‘O ye ants, get into your habitations
lest Solomon and his hosts crush you (under foot)
without knowing it.’”
(Qur’an 27:17-18)

In the past, some people would have probably mocked at the Qur’an, taking it to be a book of
fairy tales in which ants talk to each other and communicate sophisticated messages. In recent
times however, research has shown us several facts about the lifestyle of ants, which were not
known earlier to humankind. Research has shown that the animals or insects whose lifestyle is
closest in resemblance to the lifestyle of human beings are the ants. This can be seen from the
following findings regarding ants:

(a) The ants bury their dead in a manner similar to the humans.
(b) They have a sophisticated system of division of labour, whereby they have
managers, supervisors, foremen, workers, etc.
(c) Once in a while they meet among themselves to have a ‘chat’.
(d) They have an advanced method of communication among themselves.
(e) They hold regular ‘markets’ where they exchange goods.
(f) They store grain for long periods in winter and if the grain begins to bud, they cut the roots,
as if they understand that if they leave it to grow, it will rot. If the grain stored by them gets wet
due to rains, they take it out into the sunlight to dry, and once dry, they take it back inside
as though they know that humidity will cause development of root systems which will cause
 the grain to rot

“And verily in cattle there is a lesson for you.
We give you to drink of what is inside their bodies,
coming from a conjunction between the contents of the
intestine and the blood, a milk pure and pleasant for
those who drink it.”
(Qur’an 16:66)

“And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example:
from within their bodies We produce (milk)
for you to drink; there are, in them,
(besides), numerous (other) benefits for you;
and of their (meat) ye eat.”
(Qur’an 23:21)

The Qur’an was revealed 600 years before the Muslim scientist Ibn Nafees described the
circulation of the blood and 1,000 years before William Harwey brought this understanding to
the Western world. Roughly thirteen centuries before it was known what happens in the
intestines to ensure that organs are nourished by the process of digestive absorption, a verse in
the Qur’an described the source of the constituents of milk, in conformity with these notions.

To understand the Qur’anic verse concerning the above concepts, it is important to know that
chemical reactions occur in the intestines and that, from there, substances extracted from food
pass into the blood stream via a complex system; sometimes by way of the liver, depending on
their chemical nature. The blood transports them to all the organs of the body, among which
arethe milk-producing mammary glands. In simple terms, certain substances from the contents of
he intestines enter into the vessels of the intestinal wall itself, and these substances are

transported by the blood stream to the various organs.

He has only forbidden you carrion, blood and pork
and what has been consecrated to other than Allah.
But anyone who is forced to eat it-without desiring it
or going to excess in it-commits no crime. Allah is
Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
(Qur’an 2:173)

Eating pork is harmful to health in a great many regards. This harm still persists today, despite
all the precautions that are taken. First and foremost, no matter how clean the farms and
environments on which it is raised may be, the pig is not by nature a clean-living animal. It often
plays in, and even eats, its own excrement. Due to this and its biological structure, the pig
roduces much higher levels of antibodies in its body than other animals. In addition, far higher levels of
growth hormone are produced in the pig compared to those in other animals and

human beings. Naturally, these high levels of antibodies and growth hormone pass across to
and collect in the pig’s muscle tissue. Pork meat also contains high levels of cholesterol and
lipids. It has been scientifically proven that these significant amounts of antibodies, hormones,
cholesterol and lipids in pork represent a serious threat to human health.

The existence of above-average numbers of obese individuals in the populations of countries
such as the USA and Germany, in which large quantities of pork are consumed, is now
well-known. When exposed to excessive quantities of growth hormone as a result of a pork-
based diet, the human body first puts on excessive weight and then suffers physical

Another harmful substance in pork is the “trichina” worm. This is frequently found in pork and
when it enters the human body, it settles directly in the muscles of the heart and represents a
possibly fatal threat. Even though it is now technically possible to identify pigs that are infected
with trichina, no such methods were known in earlier centuries. That means that everyone who
ate pork risked infection by trichina and possible death.

All these reasons are just a part of the wisdom in our Lord’s prohibition on the consumption of
pork. Moreover, this commandment of our Lord’s provides complete protection from the harmful
effects of pork under any conditions.

Until the 20th century, it was impossible to be aware of the danger posed to human health by
pork. The fact that the Qur’an, revealed fourteen centuries ago, warns against this harm which
has been incontrovertibly revealed with modern medical equipment and biological tests, is one
of the miracles demonstrating that the Qur’an is the revelation of Allah, the Omniscient. Despite all
the precautionary measures and inspections that take place in modern-day pig rearing, the fact
that pork is physiologically incompatible with the human body and is a variety of meat harmful to human
health has not altered.

“It is He Who has Created man from water:
then has He established relationships of lineage and
marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things).”
(Qur’an 25:54)

“Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and
the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation),
before We clove them asunder, and We made from
water every living thing
. Will they not then believe?”

(Qur’an 21:30)

When babies are born both male and female are about 78 percent water. As the body ages this
changes dramatically. The human male at maturity is about 60 percent water and the adult human
female is typically 55 percent water.

 “If ye realise this not,
ask of those who possess the Message.”
(Qur’an 16:43 & 21:7)

“Proclaim! (or Read!) In the name of thy Lord
and Cherisher, Who created – Created man, out of a
(mere) clot of congealed blood.
(Qur’an 96:1-2)

All the information from the Qur’an and the undisputed Hadith concerning embryology so
gathered, after being translated into English and presented to Prof. (Dr.) Keith Moore, Professor of
Embryology and Chairman of the Department of Anatomy at the University of Toronto, in canada. At
present he is one of the highest authorities in the field of Embryology.
He was asked to give his opinion regarding the material presented to him. After carefully
examining it, Dr. Moore said that most of the information concerning embryology mentioned in
the Qur’an and the undisputed Hadith is in perfect conformity with modern discoveries in the
field of embryology and does not conflict with them in any way. He added that there were a few
verses however, on whose scientific accuracy he could not comment. He could not say whether
the statements were true or false, since he was himself unaware of the information contained
therein. There was also no mention of this information in modern writings and studies on

One such verse is:

“Proclaim! (or Read!) In the name of thy Lord
and Cherisher, Who created – Created man, out of a (mere)
clot of congealed blood.”
[Al-Qur’an 96:1-2]

The Arabic word alaq, besides meaning a congealed clot of blood, also means
something that clings, a leech-like substance

Dr. Keith Moore had no knowledge whether an embryo in the initial stages appears like a leech.
To check this out he studied the initial stage of the embryo under a very powerful microscope
and compared what he observed with the diagram of a leech. He was astonished at the striking

resemblance between the two!

Dr. Keith Moore answered about eighty questions dealing with embryological data mentioned
in the Qur’an and Hadith. Noting that the information contained in the Qur’an and Hadith was
in full agreement with the latest discoveries in the field of embryology, Prof. Moore said, “If I
was asked these questions thirty years ago, I would not have been able to answer half of them
for lack of scientific information”.

In 1981, during the Seventh Medical Conference in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Moore said, “It
has been a great pleasure for me to help clarify statements in the Qur’an about human
development. It is clear to me that these statements must have come to Muhammad from God
or Allah, because almost all of this knowledge was not discovered until many centuries later.
This proves to me that Muhammad must have been a messenger of God or Allah.

Dr. Joe Leigh Simpson, Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at the
Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, U.S.A., proclaims: “…these Hadiths, sayings of
Muhammad (pbuh), could not have been obtained on the basis of the scientific knowledge that
was available at the time of the writer (implying in the 7th century). It follows that not only is

there no conflict between genetics and religion (implying Islam) but in fact religion (Islam) may
guide science by adding revelation to some of the traditional scientific approaches . . . there
exist statements in the Qur’an shown centuries later to be valid which support knowledge in the
Qur’an having been derived from God.”

“Now let man but think from what he is created!
He is created from a drop emitted – Proceeding from
between the back bone and the ribs.”
(Qur’an 86:5-7)

In embryonic stages, the reproductive organs of the male and female, i.e. the testicles and the
ovaries, begin their development near the kidney between the spinal column and the eleventh
and twelfth ribs. Later they descend; the female gonads (ovaries) stop in the pelvis while the
male gonads (testicles) continue their descent before birth to reach the scrotum through the
inguinal canal. Even in adulthood after the descent of the reproductive organs, these organs
receive their nerve supply and blood supply from the Abdominal Aorta, which is in the area
between the backbone (spinal column) and the ribs. The lymphatic drainage and the venous
return also go to the same area.

O people, if you have any doubt about
resurrection, (remember that) we created you
from dust, and subsequently from a tiny drop,
which turns into a hanging (embryo), then it
becomes a fetus that is given life or deemed
lifeless. We thus clarify things for you. We settle
in the wombs whatever we will for a
predetermined period. We then bring you out as
infants, then you reach maturity. While some of
you die young, others live to the worst age, only
to find out that no more knowledge can be
attained beyond a certain limit. Also, you look at
a land that is dead, then as soon as we shower
it with water, it vibrates with life and grows all
kinds of beautiful plants.

(Qur’an 22:5)

Subsequently, we reproduced him from a tiny drop,
that is placed into a well protected repository.

(Qur’an 23:13)

Then we developed the drop into a hanging (embryo),
then developed the hanging (embryo) into a bite-size (fetus),
then created the bite-size (fetus) into bones, then covered
the bones with flesh. We thus produce a new creature.
Most blessed is Allah, the best Creator.
(Qur’an 23:14)

The Glorious Qur’an mentions no less than eleven times that the human being is created from
nutfah, which means a minute quantity of liquid or a trickle of liquid that remains after emptying
a cup. This is mentioned in several verses of the Qur’an including 22:5 and 23:13-14
Science has confirmed in recent times that only one out of an average of three million sperms
is required for fertilising the ovum. This means that only 1/3 millionth part or 0.00003% of the
quantity of sperms that are emitted is required for fertilisation.

“And made his progeny from a quintessence
of the nature of a fluid despised.”
(Qur’an 32:8)

The Arabic word sulaalah means quintessence or the best part of a whole. We have come to
know now that only one single spermatozoon that penetrates the ovum is required for
fertilization, out of the several million produced by man. That one spermatozoon out of several
million is referred to in the Qur’an as sulaalah. We have also come to know now that only one
ovum is fertilized out of the tens of thousands produced by the female. That one ovum out of tens
of thousand is also referred to in the Qur’an as Sulaalah. This word also means gentle extraction
from a fluid. The fluid refers to both male and female germinal fluids containing gametes. Both ovum
and sperm are gently extracted from their environments in the process of fertilization.

“Verily We created man from a drop of mingled sperm.”
(Qur’an 76:2)

The Arabic word nutfatin amshaajin means mingled liquids. According to some commentators
of the Qur’an, mingled liquids refers to the male or female agents or liquids. After mixture of
male and female gamete, the zygote still remains nutfah. Mingled liquids can also refer to
spermatic fluid that is formed of various secretions that come from various glands. Therefore,
nutfatin amshaaj, i.e. a minute quantity of mingled fluids refers to the male and female gametes
(germinal fluids or cells) and part of the surrounding fluids.

“That He did create in pairs – male and female,
from a seed when lodged (in its place).”
(Qur’an 53:45-46)

“Was he not a drop of sperm emitted
(in lowly form)? “Then did he become
a clinging clot; then did (Allah) make
and fashion (him) in due proportion.
“And of him He made two sexes, male
and female.”
(Qur’an 75:37-39)

The sex of a foetus is determined by the nature of the sperm and not of the ovum. The sex of
the child, whether female or male, depends on whether the 23rd pair of chromosomes is XX or
XY respectively. Primarily, sex determination occurs at fertilization and depends upon the type
of sex chromosome in the sperm that fertilizes an ovum. If it is an ‘X’ bearing sperm that
fertilizes the ovum, the foetus is a female and if it is a ‘Y’ bearing sperm then the foetus is a
The Arabic word nutfah means a minute quantity of liquid and tumnaa means ejaculated
or planted.
Therefore nutfah specifically refers to sperm because it is ejaculated.

Again it is mentioned that a small quantity (drop) of sperm (indicated by the word nutfatan min
maniyyin) which comes from the man is responsible for the sex of the foetus. Mothers-in-law, in
the Indian subcontinent, usually prefer having male grandchildren and often blame their
daughters-in-law if the child is not a boy. If only they knew that the determining factor is the
nature of the male sperm and not the female ovum! If they were to blame anybody, they should
rather blame their sons, not their daughters-in-law, since both the Qur’an and Science hold that
it is the male fluid that is responsible for the sex of the child!

“He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers,
in stages, one after another, in three veils of darkness.”
(Qur’an 39:6)

According to Prof. Keith Moore, these three veils of
darkness in the Qur’an refer to:
(i) anterior abdominal wall of the mother
(ii) the uterine wall
(iii) the amnio-chorionic membrane.

 “Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay);
then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm
in a place of rest, firmly fixed; then We made the sperm
into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made
a (foetus) lump; then We made out of that
lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh;
then We developed out of it another creature.
so blessed be Allah, the Best to create!”
(Qur’an 23:12-14)

“Was he not a drop of sperm emitted
(in lowly form)? Then did he become
a clinging clot; then did (Allah) make
and fashion (him) in due proportion.
and of him He made two sexes, male
and female.”
(Qur’an 75:37-39)

“Him Who created thee, fashioned thee in due proportion,
and gave thee a just bias; in whatever Form He wills,
does He put thee together.”
(Qur’an 82:7-8)

In this verse Allah states that man is created from a small quantity of liquid which is placed in a
place of rest, firmly fixed (well established or lodged) for which the Arabic word qaraarin makeen is used.

The uterus is well protected from the posterior by the spinal column supported firmly by
the back muscles. The embryo is further protected by the amniotic sac containing the amniotic
fluid. Thus the foetus has a well protected dwelling place. This small quantity of fluid is made
into alaqah, meaning something which clings. It also means a leech-like substance. Both
descriptions are scientifically acceptable as in the very early stages the foetus clings to the wall
and also appears to resemble the leech in shape. It also behaves like a leech (blood sucker) and
acquires its blood supply from the mother through the placenta,

acquiring the appearance of a leech. Compare the readily available Qur’anic knowledge with
Man’s struggle with scientific findings: In 1677, Hamm and Leeuwenhoek were the first
scientists to observe human sperm cells (spermatozoa) through a microscope. They thought
that a sperm cell contained a miniature human being which grew in the uterus to form a
newborn. This was known as the perforation theory. When scientists discovered that the ovum
was bigger than the sperm, it was thought by scientists like De Graf and others that the foetus
existed in a miniature form in the ovum. Later, in the 18th century, Maupertuis propagated the
theory of biparental inheritance. The alaqah is transformed into mudghah which means ‘something
that is chewed (having teeth marks)’ and also something that is tacky and small

which can be put in the mouth like gum. Both these explanations are scientifically correct. Prof. Keith
Moore took a piece of plaster seal and made it into the size and shape of the early stage of foetus
and chewed it between the teeth to make it into a mudghah. He compared this with the photographs of the early stage of foetus.
The teeth marks resembled the ‘somites’ which is the early formation of the spinal column.

This mudghah is transformed into bones (izâm). The bones are clothed with intact flesh or
muscles (lahm). Then Allah makes it into another creature.

Prof. Marshall Johnson who is one of the leading scientists in the USA, and is the head of the
Department of Anatomy and Director of the Daniel Institute at the Thomas Jefferson University
in Philadelphia in the USA, was asked to comment on the verses of the Qur’an dealing with
embryology. At first he said that the verses of the Qur’an describing the embryological stages
cannot be a coincidence. It was probable that Muhammad (pbuh) had a powerful microscope.
On being reminded that the Qur’an was revealed 1400 years ago, and microscopes were
invented many centuries after the time of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Prof. Johnson laughed
and admitted that the first microscope invented could not magnify more than 10 times and could
not show a clear picture. Later he said: “I see nothing here in conflict with the concept that

Divine intervention was involved when Muhammad (pbuh) recited the Qur’an.” According to Dr.
Keith Moore, the modern classification of embryonic development stages which is adopted
throughout the world, is not easily comprehensible, since it identifies stages on a numerical
basis i.e. stage 1, stage 2, etc. On the other hand, the divisions revealed in the Qur’an are

based on distinct and easily identifiable forms or shapes, which the embryo passes through.
These are based on different phases of pre-natal and provide elegant scientific descriptions that
are comprehensible and practical.

“We created you out of dust, then out of sperm,
then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh,
partly formed and partly unformed
that We may manifest (Our Power) to you.”
(Qur’an 22:5)

At the mudghah stage, if an incision is made in the embryo and the internal organ is dissected,
it will be seen that most of them are formed while the remaining are not yet completely formed.
According to Prof. Johnson, if we describe the embryo as a complete creation, then we are only
describing that part which is already created. If we describe it as an incomplete creation, then
we are only describing that part which is not yet created. So, is it a complete creation or an
incomplete creation? There is no better description of this stage of embryogenesis than the
Qur’anic description, “partly formed and partly unformed.”

Scientifically we know that at this early stage of development there are some cells which are
differentiated and there are some cells that are undifferentiated – some organs are formed and
yet others unformed.

“And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing
and sight and feeling (and understanding).”
(Qur’an 32:9)

“Verily We created man from a drop of mingled sperm,
in order to try him: so We gave him (the gifts),
of Hearing and Sight.”
(Qur’an 76:2)

“It is He Who has created for you (the faculties of)
hearing, sight, feeling and understanding:
little thanks it is ye give!”
(Qur’an 23:78)

    EMBRYOLOGY 10/10

The first sense to develop in a developing human embryo is hearing. The foetus can hear
sounds after the 24th week. Subsequently, the sense of sight is developed and by the 28th
week, the retina becomes sensitive to light.

In all these verses the sense of hearing is mentioned before that of sight. Thus the Qur’anic
description matches perfectly with the discoveries in modern embryology.

The pains of labour drove her to the trunk of a date-palm.
She [Maryam] said, “Oh if only I had died before this time
and was something discarded and forgotten!” A voice called
out to her from under her, “Do not grieve! Your Lord has
placed a small stream at your feet. Shake the trunk of
the palm towards you and fresh, ripe dates will drop
down onto you. Eat and drink and delight your eyes…”
(Qur’an 19:23-26)

There is considerable wisdom in the way that Allah recommends Maryam to eat this fruit. The
date is an excellent choice of food for the pregnant women and for those who have just given
birth. This is a widely accepted scientific fact. Maryam was inspired to understand this point, in
order to make her own labour easier. The date has one of the highest sugar levels, 60-65%, of
all fruits. Doctors recommend that pregnant women be given foods containing fruit sugar on the
day they give birth. The aim behind this is to energise and revitalise the mother’s weakened
body and at the same time to stimulate the milk hormones and increase the levels of mother’s
milk essential to the new-born baby.

In addition, loss of blood during birth leads to a fall in body sugar levels. Dates are important
from the point of view of enabling sugar to enter the body and prevent blood pressure from
dropping. Their high calorific value strengthens people weakened by illness or suffering from
extreme fatigue.

These facts reveal the wisdom in the way that Allah recommended Maryam to eat dates,
designed to energise and invigorate the woman and ensure the emergence of milk, the only food
for a baby. For example, the date contains more than ten elements of vital importance if the
body is to remain healthy and energetic. Modern-day scientists state that human beings can
actually live for years on nothing more than dates and water.110 V. H. W. Dowson, a
recognised expert in this field, says that one grain of date and a glass of milk are enough to
meet all of a person’s daily nutritional requirements.

The substance oxytocin, which is present in the date, is used in modern medicine to facilitate
birth. In fact, oxytocin means “rapid birth.” It is also known to increase levels of mother’s milk
after birth.

Oxytocin is actually a hormone released by the pituitary gland which stimulates contractions of
the womb during childbirth. All the pre-birth preparations in the body take place thanks to this
hormone. The effects of the hormone can be seen in the muscles that form the mother’s womb
and in cells in the muscular structure that enables the secretion of mother’s milk. The effective
contraction of the womb is essential if birth is to take place. Oxytocin enables the muscles that
comprise the womb to contract in a very powerful manner. Moreover, oxytocin also initiates the
secretion of mother’s milk. This feature of the date alone -the way it contains oxytocin- is
important evidence that the Qur’an is the revelation of Allah. The medical identification of the
benefits of the date only became possible in recent times. Yet it was set out fourteen centuries
ago in the Qur’an that Allah revealed to Maryam that she should eat dates.

In addition, unlike dates, other fruits are generally lacking in protein.116 Thanks to this feature,
dates enable the body to protect itself against illness and infection, to renew cells and ensure
fluid balance. Meat is also a useful foodstuff but maybe not as much as the date, which is a
fresh fruit, especially at such a time. Indeed, excessive consumption of meat during pregnancy
can actually lead to toxicity in the body. It is much better for pregnant women to choose fruit
and vegetables, which are light and easily digested.

Your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create a human being out of clay. When I have formed him and breathed My Spirit into him, fall down in prostration to him!”
(Qur’an 38:71-72)

Then inquire of them: Is it they who are stronger in structure or other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay.
(Qur’an 37:11)

We created man from an extract of clay. (Qur’an 23:12)

When the human body is examined today, it may be discovered that many elements present on
the earth are also to be found in the body. Living tissues contain 95% carbon, hydrogen, oxygen,
nitrogen, phosphorus and sulphur, with a total of 26 different elements

Below is a diagram showing the distribution of the elements in a 70-kilo human being.

We created man from an extract of clay. (Qur’an, 23:12)

The Arabic word “sulala,” translated as “extract” in the verse, means “representative example,
essence.” As we have seen, the information revealed in the Qur’an 1,400 years ago confirms
what modern science tells us-the fact that the same elements are employed in human creation
as those found in the soil.

It is He Who has created hearing, sight and minds for you.
What little thanks you show!
(Qur’an 23:78)

Allah brought you out of your mothers’ wombs knowing nothing at all, and gave you hearing, sight and minds so that perhaps you would show thanks.
(Qur’an 16:78)

Say: “What do you think? If Allah took away your hearingand your sight and sealed up your hearts, what god is there, other than Allah, who could give them back to you?”…
(Qur’an 6:46)

We created man from a mingled drop to test him, and We made him hearing and seeing.
(Qur’an 76:2)

These verses refer to a number of senses given to human beings by Allah. These are always
referred in a specific order in the Qur’an: hearingsightfeeling andunderstanding.

In a paper published in the Journal of the Islamic Medical Association, Dr. Keith Moore states
that during the development of the foetus, the eye begins to form after the inner ear has
assumed its first form. He says the brain, the centre of feeling and understanding, begins its
development after the ear and the eye.

The foetus’ ears begin to develop as early as the twenty-second day of pregnancy and become
fully functional in the fourth month. After that, the foetus can hear sounds in its mother’s womb.
For that reason, the sense of hearing forms before the other vital functions for a new-born baby.
The order set out in the Qur’an is striking from that point of view. (See Harun Yahya, The
Miracle of the Creation of the Human Being, Goodword Books, New Delhi, 2001)

From what thing did He create him? From a drop of
sperm He created him and proportioned him.
Then He eases the way for him.
(Qur’an 80:18-20)

The foetus is fully formed at the end of the sixth month. The womb then enters the incubation
period. All the baby’s bodily organs and systems develop fully during that time, and the womb
accelerates this growth by providing nourishment for the foetus. This period continues until the
baby emerges from the mother’s womb.

The birth canal is normally very narrow and it is difficult for the foetus to pass through it. During
birth, however, a number of physiological changes take place in the mother’s body. These
changes allow the foetus to move easily through the birth canal. Some of these changes include:
the expansion of the joints in the pelvic bones in order to widen the birth canal, the

relaxation of the muscles to further widen the canal and the lubrication of the canal with
amniotic fluid. These pre-birth changes are described in one scientific source in these terms:

As birth approaches, the amniotic fluid embarks on those activities that will be necessary to
facilitate that birth. This fluid comprises sacs, which will enlarge the mouth of the womb, thus
allowing the womb to assume the dimensions to allow the baby to pass. These sacs also
prevent the foetus from being crushed in the womb during birth. Furthermore, when the sacs
burst and release their fluid at the commencement of birth, the path to be taken by the foetus is
both lubricated and sterilised. In this way, birth takes place easier and in a manner naturally

free of germs.

Allah knows what every female bears and
every shrinking of the womb and every swelling.
Everything has its measure with Him.
(Qur’an 13:8)

The menstrual period is when the unfertilised egg is expelled from the body. Since fertilisation
has not taken place, the walls of the previously readied womb contract and the egg is expelled
with the breaking of tiny blood vessels. Following that, the body will then begin preparations to
repeat the whole process all over again.

All of these stages are repeated in all women over a specific period. Every month, new egg cells
form, the same hormones are secreted-again and again at the same times. Thus the female
body is prepared as if it will be fertilised. However, in the final stage, the absence or presence of
the sperm changes the nature of the preparations in the body.

During the period in question, the changes in the empty space in the womb can only be
identified by an anatomical or gynaecological examination.

At the beginning of the menstrual period, the mucous on the walls of the womb (the
endometrium layer) is 0.5 mm thick. Under the effect of hormones secreted by the egg, this
layer grows and reaches a thickness of 5-6 mm. This layer is then discarded in the absence of
fertilisation. As we see from the verse, this monthly increase and reduction in the walls of the
womb is indicated in the Qur’an.
“Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?
Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order
the very tips of his fingers.”
(Qur’an 75:3-4)

Unbelievers argue regarding resurrection taking place after bones of dead people have
disintegrated in the earth and how each individual would be identified on the Day of Judgement.
Almighty Allah answers that He can not only assemble our bones but can also reconstruct
perfectly our very fingertips.

Why does the Qur’an, while speaking about determination of the identity of the individual, speak
specifically about fingertips? In 1880, fingerprinting became the scientific method of
identification, after research done by Sir Francis Golt. No two persons in the world can ever
have exactly the same fingerprint pattern, not even identical twins. That is the reason why
police forces worldwide use fingerprints to identify criminals. Fourteen hundred years ago, who
could have known the uniqueness of each human’s fingerprint? Surely it could have been none
other than the Creator Himself!

No!  If he does not stop, We will take him by the
forelock (front of the head / fringe), a lying,
sinful forelock!
(Quran 96:15)

If we look into the skull at the front of the head, we will find the pre-frontal area of the cerebrum
What does physiology tell us about the function of this area?  A book entitled Essentials of
Anatomy & Physiology says about this area, “The motivation and the foresight to plan and

initiate movements occur in the anterior portion of the frontal lobes, the pre-frontal area. This is a
region of association cortex…” Also the book says, “In relation to its involvement in motivation, the
pre-frontal area is also thought to be the functional center for aggression….”

So, this area of the cerebrum is responsible for planning, motivating, and initiating good and
sinful behavior and is responsible for the telling of lies and the speaking of truth.  Thus, it is
proper to describe the front of the head as lying and sinful when someone lies or commits a sin,
as the Quran has said, “…A lying, sinful  naseyah (front of the head)!”

 “Those who reject our signs,
We shall soon cast into the Fire;
as often as their skins are roasted through,
We shall change them for fresh skins,
that they may taste the Penalty:
for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.”
(Qur’an 4:56)

It was thought that the sense of feeling and pain was dependent only on the brain. Recent
discoveries however prove that there are pain receptors present in the skin, without which a
person would not be able to feel pain. When a doctor examines a patient suffering from burn
injuries, he verifies the degree of burns by a pinprick. If the patient feels pain, the doctor is
happy, because it indicates that the burns are superficial and the pain receptors are intact. On
the other hand, if the patient does not feel any pain, it indicates that it is a deep burn and the
pain receptors have been destroyed.

Prof. Tagatat Tejasen, Chairman of the Department of Anatomy at Chiang Mai University in
Thailand, has spent a great amount of time on research of pain receptors. Initially he could not
believe that the Qur’an mentioned this scientific fact 1,400 years ago. He later verified the
translation of this particular Qur’anic verse. Prof. Tejasen was so impressed by the scientific
accuracy of the Qur’anic verse, that at the 8th Saudi Medical Conference held in Riyadh on the
Scientific Signs of Qur’an and Sunnah, he proudly proclaimed in public:

“There is no God but Allah and
Muhammad (pbuh) is His Messenger.”

“Soon will We show them Our Signs in the (furthest)
regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until
it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth
it is not enough that Thy Lord doth witness
all things?”
(Qur’an 41:53)

“Behold! In the creation of the heavens and the earth,
and the alternation of Night and Day –
there are indeed Signs for men of understanding .”
(Qur’an 3:190)

To attribute the presence of scientific facts in the Qur’an to coincidence would be against
common sense and a true scientific approach. Indeed the scientific accuracy of the Qur’anic
verses confirm the Qur’an’s open declaration.

The Qur’an invites all humans to reflect on the
Creation of this universe.

The scientific evidences of the Qur’an clearly prove its Divine origin. No human could have
produced a book, fourteen hundred years ago, that would contain such profound scientific facts.
The Qur’an, however, is not a book of Science but a book of ‘Signs’. These signs invite Man to
realize the purpose of his existence on earth, and to live in harmony with Nature. The Qur’an is
truly a message from Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe. It contains the same
Message of the Oneness of God, that was preached by all prophets, right from Adam, Moses,
Jesus to Muhammad (peace be upon them). Several detailed tomes have been written on the
subject of Qur’an and modern science and further research in this field is on. Inshallah, this
research will help mankind to come closer to the Word of the Almighty. Some people may
require ten signs while some may require hundred signs to be convinced about the Divine origin
of the Qur’an.

Some would be unwilling to accept the Truth even after being shown a thousand signs.

The Qur’an contains a complete code of life for the individual and society. Alhamdulillah (Praise
be to Allah), the Qur’anic way of life is far superior to the ‘isms’ that modern man has invented
out of sheer ignorance. Who can give better guidance than the Creator Himself?

I pray that this humble effort is accepted by Allah, to whom I pray for mercy and guidance
